Operations Engineer with a Focus on Maintenance
Lerum Municipality is known for its scenic locations with lakes and forests. The municipality has 3,200 employees and 43,000 residents but expects to grow significantly in the coming years. Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing a development-intensive period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.
The Water and Sewage Unit is responsible for the municipal water and sewage operations in Lerum Municipality. This includes the production and distribution of drinking water as well as the diversion and treatment of wastewater for approximately 33,000 people. The Water and Sewage Unit has over 45 employees and is thus a medium-sized organization, divided into three units: Water Production, Water Distribution, and Water Planning.
Water Production is responsible for all facilities such as waterworks, treatment plants, pumping stations, and pressure boosting stations as well as reservoirs. Our mission is to produce and deliver healthy drinking water of high quality and with high delivery reliability. We aim to divert wastewater with minimal impact on health and the environment. We work for satisfied customers and a sustainable society.
We are 14 people in the unit who, together with the entire Technical Service, have offices based in Stenkullen.
We are now looking for reinforcement with a new operations engineer focused on maintenance, as our current one will retire in the spring.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an operations engineer, you will support and lead the unit's long-term maintenance work for all water and sewage facilities. In your role, you will develop plans and prepare work for both internal and external maintenance efforts for the unit. You will be involved in procurement and ensure that we have the agreements needed to plan finances and maintenance efforts in good time, as well as ensure that they are followed.
You will conduct criticality assessments and ensure that the right spare parts are available to carry out both planned and emergency maintenance efforts. Together with our automation engineer, you will be responsible for our maintenance system and ensure that all our documentation is in the right place.
Your tasks will be planned in consultation with yourself, your manager, and the work leader. In the position, you will be responsible for your own projects and also serve as an expert in other project and work groups. The work includes collaborating with the team on business development and daily operations.
You will assist in quality assurance and ensure that we comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
Together with the unit manager and work leader, you will participate in improving the work environment in the unit and, in dialogue/collaboration with employees, drive improvement work where needed.
In the work, on-call duty for all water and sewage facilities may be included in the long term.
QUALIFICATIONS
Suitable vocational/college education in water and sewage or maintenance. Alternatively, work experience deemed equivalent. You hold a B driver's license.
It is advantageous if you have worked with the operation of water and sewage facilities and have knowledge of the entire water and sewage process.
It is important that you have an interest in working in an organization with many and broad tasks where you contribute your expertise to develop the operations.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
